Advisory Board

The Eclipse Forum Europe Advisory Board works behind the scenes to architect the program for Eclipse Forum Europe 2007. Highly skilled developers, architects, consultants, and Eclipse community insiders are part of the advisory board. The program has been conceived such that EFE 2007 topics hold immense value not only for developers and architects working hands-on with Eclipse technologies, but also to a gathering that wants to stay tuned to the future trends that will shape the Eclipse ecosystem.



Sebastian Meyen | Program Chair

      Software & Support Verlag

Sebastian Meyen has been the editor-in-chief of the Java Magazin since its foundation in 1998. Besides, he is the editor-in-chief of the Eclipse Magazin which has been launched in 2004. In this way he has been accompanying the Java Community as a journalist almost from its beginning. Prior to his work at Software & Support Verlag he studied philosophy in Frankfurt. He has also been responsible for the program of the JAX, W-JAX and the Enterprise Architecture conference as well as the Eclipse forum right from the beginning.


Wayne Beaton

      Eclipse Foundation

Wayne Beaton is employed by The Eclipse Foundation where he works as an evangelist, spreading the word and helping folks adopt Eclipse technologies. Wayne has extensive experience in object-oriented software development and is a strong proponent of refactoring, unit testing, and agile development methodologies.




Jochen Krause

      Innoopract Informationssysteme GmbH

Jochen Krause has been involved with Eclipse since 2002 and is currently a member of the Eclipse Web Tools PMC. At Innoopract, a recognized specialist in Eclipse distribution and visual web application development tools, he is primarily responsible for strategy and product development. He has driven the adoption of Eclipse as the foundation of all of Innoopracts product offerings. By supporting Fortune 500 companies engaging with Eclipse technology he gained a broad understanding of the requirements and needs of the Eclipse enterprise market.


Peter Kriens

      OSGi Alliance

Peter Kriens is a software Architect driven by the desire to see people using the systems he developed. He has been leading the efforts of the OSGi specifications over the last 5 years. Before this, he developed his experience in almost any important software technology (networking, databases, GUIs, object oriented, large scale distributed processing, communications). He developed products with these technologies in the eighties for a microprocessor based newspaper system. Peter Kriens has the Dutch, worked in Germany, Belgium, Sweden, and the USA. He lived in Holland, Sweden and now resides in the south of France.


Ralph Müller

     Eclipse Foundation

Ralph Müller represents the Eclipse Foundation in Europe. He is working to support the European Eclipse Eco-System, with a special interest in the Automotive and Embedded industry. Ralph has worked in the software industry as a computer scientist for over 20 years. After working for Object Technology International, Ralph's last position was with IBM where he spent 5 years as Solutions Architect for the European Automotive industry. Ralph lives close to Darmstadt, Germany.


Wolfgang Neuhaus

     itemis AG

Wolfgang Neuhaus founded itemis together with Jens Wagener in 2003. Previously he was Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Brockhaus AG, and headed a team of about 80 software developers and consultants. Wolfgang Neuhaus earned a degree in Computer Science from the University of Dortmund in 1995. He has extensive practical experience in introducing and implementing Model Driven Software Development, which is his core focus. He is a well-known journal-published writer, an IT conference speaker, and is responsible for the company's technical vision.


Tobias Widmer

      IBM Rational Zurich Research Lab

Tobias Widmer obtained a master in computer science from Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich. He is working at the IBM Zurich Labs as a Software Engineer and is an Eclipse Committer for the JDT UI project and the LTK Refactoring framework. He focuses on Java User Interfaces, Code Coverage tooling, Online Collaboration and Refactoring, regularly speaks at conferences and has published a number of articles about software development with Eclipse.
